Happenings & Interventions

Characteristics: Disruptive, one-of-a-kind artistic interventions on the intersection of performance, protest, and celebration; surprising, unpredictable and disruptive

Set: Happenings are designed to challenge norms, playing with the (social) codes of theater and art spaces. They’re unrepeatable flashes of expression—raw, real, and radically alive. 

Setting: The setting is often spontaneous or site-specific, emphasizing unpredictability; the set is minimal to focus on the disruptive act. They are inspired by, but not bound to, a specific context and situation.

Artist: RELNACHT Cartel, performers from various backgrounds 

Audience: active participation in an artistic capsule in time, full of surprise effects. Visitors are occasionally not sure what takes place, when it has ended, even when things have gone ‘wrong’.
